Using Keywords To Transform Your Article Into A Powerhouse Promoter
With the effort and energy you put into writing interesting content rich articles, you want to insure those articles are promoting you as well as possible. You can add extra power to your articles by using keywords and keyword phrases. Now keywords are those words people type into a search engine browser to find information about a particular topic or subject. The search engines like Google, MSN, and AOL keep track of all these words and phrases.
The search engines track keywords for two reasons: they use the keywords to sell ads to business people and to provide listings of relevant search listings. The promise of listings is why people use them to find information. I doubt most of us would use the search engines if they were just paid ads alone.
So it's important to include keywords in your articles so the search engines will locate the articles on the web: website copy, article directories, and ezines. How do you find the keywords to use? There are various programs available to use. Some of them include: WordTracker and Keyword Elite.
The prices vary and WordTracker is based on an annual subscription fee and KeywordElite is a one time fee. If you want to tryWordTracker it has a trial period when you can test drive it for a day or longer. If you want to avoid spending money initially, then try the free program Good Keywords. Good Keywords is helpful when initially finding the words to use, but doesn't have some of the features that can make the subscription programs easy to use.
There are two ways of writing an article using keywords. The first, which I recommend, is to do your research and then write the article. The second way is to write the article and then substitute the keywords and phrases for ones you have used. When writing your article it's important to include keywords as a percentage of the words in your article. Otherwise the article can sound awkward with too many repetitions. Also search engines tend to penalize articles with a very high percentage of keywords. The rule of thumb is to keep your keywords to 3% or less of the total words.
Now you can do some complicated mathmatical formula to determine keyword density or you can use a clever (it's even free) online tool to do the calculations for you. The tool works well and if you can cut and paste, you're set. The tool will calculate up to three keywords per article.
You know the advantages of article writing, now it's time to pull out your calendar and schedule some writing time.
It’s all about using Word of Mouse to promote your message,
